Blayne’s journey began long before Prairie Barnwood. Starting with an antique refurbishing company in 2001, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of timeless craftsmanship. It was during a family vacation to Southern Ontario and the Northern United States that the vision for Prairie Barnwood took shape—a dream to create unique, handcrafted furniture from reclaimed wood. An Initial Design Investment secures your place in the design process, allowing our team to focus on crafting your dream piece. This includes an in-person consultation and measure-up meeting where Blayne combines his expertise with your vision to determine how your commissioned furniture will perfectly complement your space. With detailed 3D drawings, you’ll see your piece take shape, bringing your ideas to life in stunning detail.

In the final stage, you’ll work closely with him to refine every detail of your piece, from selecting the perfect wood—often sourced from the late 1800s—to choosing finishes that reflect your style.
