Growing Healing, Dignity & Connection — Now Rooted at Prairie Barnwood

We Believe

At Prairie Barnwood, we build more than mantels, shelves, and beams — we are builders of places, stories, and hope. We believe that beauty comes from renewal, that dignity grows from hands in soil, that connection is what gives life meaning. When values like craftsmanship, sustainability, and community collide, something powerful goes beyond what meets the eye.

What is Hope Re:news?

Hope Re:News is a global initiative founded in 2019 on the island of Lesvos, Greece. It exists to provide displaced people and marginalized communities the resources, training, and space to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives.

  • Regenerative farming as a source of sustenance and learning
  • Life‑skills education: from agriculture to leadership
  • A community built on care, dignity, and shared work

And today, that mission finds a home here in Morden, Manitoba — embedded in the heart of Prairie Barnwood.

Because hope is not passive — it’s something we cultivate, together.

Why this matters

Dignity restoration:

Providing tools, knowledge, and belonging for people who’ve lost both.

Sustainable impact:

Regenerative farming heals land and provides real livelihood.

Connection & community:

In shared stories and shared work, healing happens.

Legacy:

We’re building for future generations — for people, land, and stories to endure.

Our Connection

Prairie Barnwood & Hope Re:News are joined by more than a partnership — we are aligned in purpose.

  • Our pieces emerge from reclaimed wood, each with its history; Hope Re:News works with land, each acre with its scars and potential.
  • We believe in craftsmanship, in honoring materials, in sustainability from root to finish.
  • By hosting Hope Re:News in our studio, we turn our space into more than a showroom — it becomes a place of gathering, learning, and hope renewed.

Everyone has a place in this story. Here’s how you can help hope grow:
